Week 9/29 Process Journal

To make a truly artistic musical performance means that one needs to fully understand his/her music while also paying attention to the other parts of the ensemble. This requires that the musician pays attention to their peers during rehearsals while also marking important sections of the music during practice time. Listening to the other parts during rehearsals and marking music all takes time before the concert to perform artistically when the concert date arrives. Individually I am taking note of times during my music that I need to adjust my tone to make sure the melody is heard during pieces such as Moscow 1941 and Arabian Dances. Especially in Moscow, I make note of when I need to subdivide such as measures 52-56.
